Community Transition Services

Transitional Housing is community based housing provided to adult offenders who are in need of a structured, positive, and safe environment for a period of up to 90 days. The length of stay in Transitional Housing will be based on needs for a minimum of 90 days up to a maximum of 120 days. Community partnerships and collaborations are an important component of the section’s efforts. To that end, Transition Services funds and provides oversight for local reentry councils that provide support services related to housing, employment, transportation, vocational training, and other critical life areas.

Conclusion

In essence, Transition Services and the local reentry councils work together to create a support system that addresses the diverse needs of justice-involved individuals, promoting their successful reintegration and contributing to public safety. This collaboration aims to help individuals become self-sufficient, manage family responsibilities, and make positive contributions to their communities.
